The Burger Anatomy Poster: A Retro Guide to the Perfect Stack

There’s something about a really good burger that feels almost universal. It’s simple, classic, nostalgic, and somehow still exciting every single time. That was the inspiration behind my new Burger Anatomy Poster — a vintage-style illustrated guide to the perfect hamburger stack.

I wanted this poster to feel like something you might find hanging in an old diner, burger joint, or roadside café. It has that retro menu-board charm, but with a playful “scientific poster” twist. Each ingredient is separated out and labeled, showing how all the layers come together to create the perfect burger.

From the sesame seed top bun to the ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, beef patty, mustard, and bottom bun, every piece gets its moment. I also added a fun little “Add-Ons” section featuring extras like bacon, sliced jalapeño, blue cheese, fried egg, mushrooms, and avocado — because everyone has their own idea of the perfect burger.

The design has a warm vintage feel with textured type, classic diner colors, and a slightly aged poster look. I love creating pieces that feel nostalgic but still fresh enough to work in a modern kitchen, restaurant, food truck, or gallery wall.

This print would be perfect for a kitchen, BBQ area, burger bar, diner-inspired space, or as a gift for a foodie, grill master, chef, or anyone who takes their burger toppings seriously.

At the end of the day, this poster is just meant to be fun. It celebrates one of the best comfort foods out there and turns it into a piece of wall art with a little humor, a little nostalgia, and a whole lot of flavor.

The Burger Anatomy Poster is now available in my Etsy shop.
