Alisa's 40th Birthday Party!

This tuesday is my sister Alisa's 40th Birthday! Her husband Brian contacted me way in advance to help him plan a surprise party. I was in charge of the decor, Gina was in charge of the game, and my Mom was in charge of the treats with help from my other siblings. It was not easy to keep this all a surprise but i think we pulled it off wonderfully. She looked totally shocked!

I made the Happy Birthday banner a while ago and it set the tone for color schemes and the rest of the decor. I loved how it turned out.
I used the scraps from the banner to create the circle garland. I had my friend Emily from work sew them. I once saw on pinterest someone who had made a collage of photos to form a 50 on the wall. I loved the idea and decided to make one as well. I color treated the photos and added white borders to them for cohesiveness. I loved how this turned out as well. So fun to see my sister through all the ages of her life. She is a wonderful person, a great mom, and excellent sister. Happy Birthday Alisa!

  1. Alisa's 40th Birthday was so adorable!! That was an exquisite birthday banner. I just reserved some local San Francisco event venues for my 25th birthday bash so I would like to get some shabby chic themed décor ideas for this party. Could you please share that?
